Satco Unveils New Print Advertisement Today!

Satco is pleased to unveil its new print advertisement for the new Featherweight LD-3 air cargo container today.  The ad will be featured on the back cover of the 25th Edition of the IATA Technical Manual scheduled for publication at the end of July 2010.

New LD-3 Test Results Are In! The Featherweight Pulls Its Weight!

On February 11, 2010, EVA Air began testing Satco's newest innovation, the Featherweight AKE LD-3 air cargo container in its ULD fleet.  After being delivered to EVA Air in Taiwan, the Featherweight began its journey around the globe as a fully functional part of the EVA ULD fleet.   The unit was handled over 172 times at 16 airports, from Anchorage (ANC), Phoenix (PHX), Vancouver (YVR), San Francisco (SFO) and Newark (EWR) in North America to Taiwan Taoyuan (TPE), New Chitose, Japan (CTS), Tan Son Nhat, Vietnam (SGN), Macau (MFM), Hong Kong (HKG), Ninoy Aquino, Manila (MNL), Narita, Japan (NRT), Pu Dong, Shanghai (PVG), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (KUL) and Soekarno-Hatta, Jakarta (CTS) in Asia and Southeast Asia.

A true work-horse, the Featherweight was returned to Satco today with only a few surface scratches and minor signs of wear from its long and successful journey.  Take a look at the photographs of the unit post production and today.  Despite rigorous handling and harsh climate conditions, there is no evidence of damage to the unit after continuous, non-stop use for over 4 months.

Satco is extremely proud to have had EVA test one of its new Featherweight LD-3s and discover that even without stiffeners, pound for pound it is the toughest lightweight in its class.  If your operation would like to test one of Satco's new Featherweight LD-3s, please contact Vince Voong (vincevoong@satco-inc.com) or Rob Looker (roblooker@satco-inc.com) at (310) 322 4719.  We look forward to showing your cargo team the many advantages of Satco's new Featherweight AKE/LD-3.

Ready for delivery to Eva Air...

And today..after taking a licking, it keeps on shipping!

Satco's New Featherweight AKE LD-3 Air Cargo Container

Satco would like to thank KOREAN AIR and EVA AIR for becoming our first customers of the newly launched SATCO Featherweight LD-3 series air cargo container.

Some say the technology is conventional, but time has proven that aluminum is practical, reliable and cost-effective.  Aluminum is not only lightweight to assist in lower fuel burn thus emitting less carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, but with the proper design, the technology is proven to be durable, 100% recyclable and non-toxic to the environment.

Please subscribe to our new blog to receive future updates or contact Satco to find out more about the new Featherweight AKE LD-3 air cargo container and how it would benefit your operation.
